ELECTRIC CERTIFIED JOURNEYMAN LINEWORKER POSITION
PERU UTILITIES, PERU, INDIANA

Peru Utilities is seeking applications for a full-time Electric Certified Journeyman Lineworker. Tasks involve construction and maintenance of overhead and underground electric distribution line, working in awkward positions, in adverse weather, repetitive lifting and exposure to noise and potentially dangerous conditions.
Minimum qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent possession of a nationally recognized Journeyman card for high voltage electric line work or proof that the individual has satisfactorily completed an apprenticeship program that is deemed equivalent to the Peru Utilities Apprentice Lineworker Training Program. Must acquire a CDL with air brake endorsement within 180 days of employment. Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills, physical abilities to accomplish duties, an aptitude for line work and the ability to work as part of a crew.
The successful candidate will be on-call to respond to emergency situations on a rotating basis and must reside within a 12-mile radius of the Peru Utilities service complex within 90 days of employment.
The position includes an excellent benefit package. Starting wage will be in the $27.23 to $28.66/hour range depending upon experience.
