Salary Range
$6,324.93 - $6,841.47 Per Month ($36.49-$39.47 Per Hour)

EMPLOYEES WHO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE SIX MONTH PROBATIONARY
PERIOD AND MEET THE MANDATORY HIGH VOLTAGE RUBBER GLOVING TRAINING
AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL $2.37 PER HOUR HIGH VOLTAGE RUBBER GLOVING ASSIGNMENT PAY.

This Position Requires:
Journey level experience as an Electrical Line Mechanic.
Extensive knowledge of the principles of electrical distribution, sub-transmission.
The operation, construction, repair and maintenance of distribution and sub-transmission
lines, cables, transformers and related equipment.
Knowledge of the tools, practices, terminology and the safety precautions of the line
mechanic trade; electrical theory as applied to circuits and wiring systems, with the ability
to interpret electrical plans and prints.
Skill in the operation of line trucks and auxiliary hydraulic equipment attached to line trucks
and bucket trucks; use of hot sticks on 12 KV and above voltages; willingness to climb and
work alone if necessary; pole climbing, splicing wires, using hotline tools and working in
aerial devices; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with supervisors,
other employees and the public.
The ability to stand, use hands, arms, and legs, stoop, and bend, and lift up to 100 pounds.
A Valid California Class "A" Driver's License is required, or the ability to obtain one within
the first 6 months of appointment.
This position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing required by the Department
of Transportation (D.O.T.).

NOTE: Must be willing to participate in after hours planned and emergency work. May be
assigned to work Tuesday through Saturday shift or Monday through Friday shift.

The selection process will consist of an oral interview and a practical pole-climbing exam.
