The Kennebunk Light & Power District in Kennebunk, Maine is seeking a second or first class line worker to join its staff.

The District is a not-for-profit, community owned, public power electric distribution company located in southern Maine. First founded in 1893, the District prides itself on its commitment to our community, our employees and our longevity. This opening is due to the retirement of a staff member who has been with us for 26 years.

As a line worker with KLPD you will be responsible for maintenance of our 7200/12470 primary overhead and underground system as well as secondary installations. We do all of our own construction. We have two substations, one connected at 35 kV and the other at 115 kV. We serve around 6000 year round customers in a wonderful coastal community. You must possess a valid CD license, pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and physical exam, and be able to verify your experience and classification.

First class line workers are required to live within a fifteen minute response time to the District's office and to be part of the "on-call" rotation for after hour trouble calls. Overtime is at a minimum due to the well maintained and upgraded system. Wages are competitive with our area, but do not necessarily compare with other states. However, we have an excellent fringe benefit package a part of which is that the District pays 95% of the health care costs for an employee and their family.

$23 to $27/hour depending upon classification and experience
